Protective Effect of Aqueous Neem Leaf Extract on Erythromycin Induced Histomorphological Changes on Hepatocytes of (Albino Wistar) Rats

Objective: To determine the protective effect of aqueous Neem leaf extract-induced hepatotoxicity by Erythromycin.Study Design: Laboratory-based Experimental study.Place and Duration Study: The study was conducted at Department Anatomy Animal House Baqai Medical University (BMU) Karachi, Pakistan from January 2019 to March 2019.Materials Methods: A total 80 albino Wistar male rats were randomly divided into 4 groups. Control group, marked as Group with no interventions. Only Erythromycin administered in group B. an extract neemleaves C rats. D only received neemleaves. Animals' body weight noted both before after experiments. Liver also measured 14 days when animals sacrificed.Results: Histopathological changes B include loss architecture, portal vein observed congestion, hemorrhages. In C, histopathological showed hepatocytes slightly disturbed mild congestion decreased sinusoidal spaces; however, andGroup normal hepatocyte architecture. Conclusion: According current study, Erythromycin-induced oxidative stress damage weremarkedly reduced neem extract, which is a powerful antioxidant.
